Serving Suggestions & Tips

The single serve meal is a full day’s calories for an 8 – 10kg dog.

  • Wellbeing Meals are best served warm. Defrost in a refrigerator, and then heat up in a microwave safe container for 30 seconds in the microwave. If defrosted in the microwave, please ensure there are no hot spots in the Meal (stand for a few minutes).
  • To serve, tip into a bowl and mix well to evenly distribute all the goodies and make sure they eat they’re vegies!
  • The amount of food and calories a dog needs varies from dog to dog, and of course lifestyle. You will need to judge this as you continue with the Meals & decide for yourself how much is a good balance.
  • Wellbeing Meals over deliver on the less common micro nutrients, so there is a built in safety should you choose to use other foods as well as our Wellbeing Meals. If you are concerned, add the Wellbeing Mix to non-Wellbeing products in order to boost the micro nutrients and overall health benefits.
  • As a guide, for small dogs split the meal in 2 before heating – and maybe serve a small breakfast as well.
  • My dogs are 5kg and 4kg and share a single bowl (225g) for dinner.  They have a small breakfast as well; they might share a scrambled egg, some leftovers, or sometimes a minute steak. Yes they are looked after, and I add the Wellbeing Mix to their breakfast meal. They have a bone, a big one, 3 times a week.
  • Larger dogs can have a full Wellbeing Meal and a larger breakfast, like a bone, chicken wing/leg, homemade meals or kibble if you use it. Alternatively add more to the Meal to boost the calories or serve more than 1 meal.
  • We have a few larger dogs that have our Wellbeing Meals as part of the food they have daily.  It is often surprising how well they do on this food and just raw meaty bones. Larger dogs need less calories than small dogs, for their weight.
  • Daily Food IdeasWe generally recommend that dogs have bones 3 times a week, for enjoyment and for those teeth and gums. Although both our Meals and our Mix provide all the calcium a Dog needs, nothing can replace the dental hygiene of a chew on they’re favourite bone!
  • Because our Meals include all the fats, proteins & calories your Dog needs, they are immensely satisfying, so they are great if you are trying to get some weight off your canine couch potato.
